Emergency First Aid and CPR-B

Whereas Basic First Aid focuses on simple steps of calling EMS (9-1-1) and caring for an adult victim, Emergency First Aid (EFA) enters the world of lifesaving in greater depth. Participants in this course will learn how to treat adults, children, and infants experiencing a wide array of emergencies such as choking, heart attack, stroke, burns, and more. Participants in this course are taught how to perform CPR when alone and how to utilize bystanders for help, as well as what to expect before, during, and after an emergency.

Standard First Aid and CPR-C (with AED)

This first aid certification goes above and beyond the teachings of an Emergency First Aid Course (EFA). Standard First Aid (SFA) prepares candidates to respond in a wide array of emergency situations. Content includes all material covered in EFA (see left panel) as well as how to recognize and treat spinal injuries, head injuries, bone and joint inuries, diabetese, critical incident stress, and more. Candidates will also learn to work cohesively to perform two-person CPR.

First Aid Kits & Supplies
SFA Ottawa offers a broad range of individual first aid supplies as well as preassembled kits that meet the needs of your organization (regardless of your size).
We offer complimentary assessments to determine what kind of first aid supplies you are legally required to have on site, as well as which ones may help you go above and beyond to deliver better outcomes in an emergency. With just a few short questions, we can tailor make your first aid kits to offer a little more of the supplies you’re likely to need most and create a kit that’s right for you.

Scheduling
Book your courses well in advance, or last minute. We understand that the standard consecutive two-day formats may not work for many industries. Alternate scheduling available.
